Carvoeiro is small, pretty and very walkable: a sandy cove framed by pastel houses, with clifftop paths leading to some of the most beautiful sea caves on the coast.
Why stay in Carvoeiro
The village square is right on the beach, so mornings start with a swim and coffee in the same place. The Seven Hanging Valleys trail starts on the edge of town and runs along the cliffs to Benagil and Marinha.
Evenings are relaxed. Grilled fish, a glass of local white and the sound of the sea, rather than clubs and crowds.
Good to know
Carvoeiro is hilly. Our villas up on the headland have the views and the pools; the village apartments trade those for being two minutes from the sand.
