Sagres sits at the south-west tip of Europe: windswept, surf-friendly and wonderfully unpolished, with dramatic cliffs and beaches on two coasts.
Why stay in Sagres
You choose your beach by the wind: sheltered southern coves when the north wind blows, west-coast breaks when it is calm. Surf schools run all year, and the Rota Vicentina walking trails start right here.
Watch the sunset from Cabo de São Vicente, then have dinner at one of the small grills in town where the catch changes every day.
Good to know
Even in summer, evenings can be cool. Bring a jumper. Most of our Sagres stays have fireplaces or heat pumps for winter visits.
