From cataplana to carob cake, the dishes our team orders when we eat out.
Algarve food is simple and seasonal, and the seafood is outstanding. These are the dishes our team orders when we eat out.
From the sea
Cataplana de marisco, a copper-pot stew of clams, prawns and chouriço. Grilled sardines in summer. Polvo à lagareiro, roasted octopus with olive oil and garlic. And clams Bulhão Pato, cooked with coriander and lemon.
From the land
Frango piri-piri from Guia, the town that made it famous. Bean stews from the Monchique hills, and presunto from the serra.
Something sweet
Almond and fig sweets, carob cake and, of course, a warm pastel de nata with your morning bica.
